RP Thompson | Education & Artist Resources
I’m not just a guitar player, recording artist, and performing musician. Along with many years of playing shows, touring, writing, recording, and releasing music, I’ve also spent years teaching one-on-one guitar lessons and working with students at different stages of their musical development. Today, I bring that experience into the classroom as a college instructor, teaching music business and entrepreneurship while continuing to work as an active musician.
My education has also become an important part of that journey. I earned a master’s degree in Music Business from Berklee College of Music, and I continue to study teaching and learning in higher education. But much of what I teach has also come from actually doing the work—recording albums, running an independent label, booking shows, managing projects, working with other musicians, and navigating the changing music business.
I created this page to bring those two sides of my life together: music and education. Here you’ll find practical resources, guides, workbooks, lessons, and other tools designed for musicians, independent artists, and creative professionals who want to better understand their craft, their career, and the business surrounding it.
The goal is simple: use what I’ve learned in the classroom and on the road to create useful resources that can help you move forward with your own work.
